Who can file an RTI application in India?
Any Indian citizen can file an RTI. There are no age, income, or education restrictions. The RTI Act 2005 applies to all public authorities at the central, state, and local government levels across India.
How long does it take to get a response to an RTI?
Government departments must respond to your RTI within 30 days of receiving it. For matters involving life or liberty, the response is legally required within 48 hours. If you don't receive a reply in 30 days, you can file a first appeal under Section 19 of the RTI Act.
How much does it cost to file an RTI through FileMyRTI?
