Quick Answer: An RTI application in India requires: your name, address, and contact details; the name and address of the Public Information Officer (PIO); specific questions about the information you seek; and a ₹10 fee (postal order, DD, or online payment). Address it to the PIO of the relevant department. BPL cardholders are exempt from the fee. No specific format is mandatory — even a plain letter works. Get expert-drafted RTI →
