About Narsimha Chary
Adv. Narsimha Chary is the senior-most RTI practitioner at FileMyRTI and is enrolled with the Bar Council of Telangana (enrollment number TS/1034/2008). Over 18 years of legal practice since 2008, he has personally drafted more than 10,000 Right to Information applications across central ministries, state departments, and local bodies. He founded FileMyRTI in 2014 with the premise that every citizen, regardless of income or legal background, deserves access to the government transparency that the RTI Act 2005 guarantees.

Practice & Experience
His practice spans the full RTI lifecycle — original applications under Section 6, First Appeals under Section 19(1), and Second Appeals before the Central and State Information Commissions under Section 19(3). He has appeared before Information Commissions in matters involving pension disputes, land revenue records, passport delays, educational records, and Public Distribution System grievances. Under his leadership, FileMyRTI's success rate on well-drafted applications has consistently tracked above 98%, measured as either substantive response within the 30-day statutory window or successful extraction via First Appeal. He personally reviews complex matters — particularly those touching on Section 8 exemption disputes and cases where the Public Information Officer has misclassified the request — before the final application is filed.
Drafting Approach
His drafting style emphasises specificity over breadth: a single, precisely-framed question is almost always more productive than a laundry list of loosely-worded queries. He also insists that every RTI pre-empt the most commonly invoked Section 8 exemption grounds, removing the PIO's easy deflections before they can be raised. This is why FileMyRTI applications reliably extract information from departments that routinely stonewall self-filed citizen RTIs.
Focus Areas
Editorial & Legal-Review Standards
Content on FileMyRTI's service pages, district guides, and blog posts that touches on general RTI law, the appellate structure, and procedural requirements is reviewed by Adv. Chary for legal accuracy. State-specific and jurisdictional commentary (Telangana, Andhra Pradesh) is co-reviewed with colleagues whose practice focuses on those jurisdictions.
